Marion Sabina Mills was born July 3, 1908, one of eight children born to Lawrence Mills and Louise Hammer Mills. Her siblings included Lawrence, Robert, Elizabeth Louise, Eva Deloretta (Marion’s twin), Louise, and twins Joseph and Carl.
Marion was raised in Washington, D.C., attending Academy of Notre Dame prior to pursuing professional art instruction to develop her artistic talent.
At the age of 30, Marion married John Joseph Tracy on May 27, 1939, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. Together they had three children: Thomas Shawn, Michael Mills, and Marion Eve.
Two months shy of their 25th wedding anniversary, John Tracy passed away on March 20, 1964. Marion remarried twice more in her life – to Gene Reardon and George Knight. She died on August 8, 1983.
Throughout her life, Marion pursued her creative talents through artwork, photography and gardening. This collection of her art is meant to preserve, share and inspire, keeping Marion’s artistic legacy alive.
